The Alan Titchmarsh Show - “video games promote hatred, violence and sexism”

The anger I feel about this subject made me feel the need to share. 

Why should the Games Industry be blamed and penalized because of negligent parents who are buying their 13 year old kid the latest 18 game for their birthday without reading the content? 
Alas as long as there are violent games and susceptible kids then the industry will always be blamed.

Thoughts on the matter?

I read somewhere this quote, “Frogger didn’t make our parents jump out into traffic.”  I have been playing video games for all of my life (sans 5 years of toddlership) and I have never once become violent.  Secondly, the nations most affected demographic with violence is under privileged minority youth.  These groups usually are too poor to afford video games.  I really wish people would understand the difference between causation and correlation.  

About this video, I only watched 1:12 minutes of it because the interviewer was interrupting the guest when he was defending the industry. Bad job reporting dumb television personality.
